when it comes to windows software most people including me just use the software they have been using for years but the problem is the software keeps updating and the good old software you use to use few years ago becomes outdated or worst the company behind the software sells-out leaving the software to the hands off people that are only interested in profit not even knowing what made the software good in the first place so this is a list of some software that were good once but now have not been the same

Opera #

well opera use to be one of the major browser in the early days of the internet and even when they were not the main player in the desktop space they were one of the first players in mobile web browser with there Opera mini but as they use to use there own web engine Presto but when in 2008 when google came out with v8 you may know it as google chrome opera become last gen and in 2013 had to use v8 them self too and was sold to a Chinese billionaire Zhou Yahui known for loan apps in Kenya personally i distrust any fin-tech app that is not decentralized but zhou has also bought 60% stake in grinder so he knows where to invest and when. but i don’t see him making Opera a better browser at all so where to get all the feature of opera well the only alive founder of opera Jon Stephenson von Tetzchner after selling the opera name made an other browser called Vivaldi want a feature rich browser like opera use to be but actively updated you can use Vivaldi its not a fully open source like Firefox but it is what opera once was a feature rich browser with fits needs of many users i know most people use google chrome so its the perfect browser for them because it can use chrome extensions even some Linux distributions are showing trust in Vivaldi now so if you are bored with chome but not want to use Firefox or brave try Vivaldi it uses the same v8 engein but adds more feature to it as you can see i am using Vivaldi and it has tabs under tabs i use Vivaldi for this feature alone i use firefox and other v8 based browser but when ever i get lot of tabs open i get lost and it becomes hard to navigate

in short opera got sold new opera is called Vivaldi and its great try it

ccleaner #

in windows i use to use a software called CCleaner a lot it helped stop startups and do registry cleanups but in 2017 i felt the CCleaner become worst for some reason but i was not able to understand what had happening now instead to stooping startup it become a annoy startup it self and asked me to buy the app. I was using for free for past years but i didn’t know what was happening i did’t know any better alternative app so i kept using it but now when i looked up what had happened it was the company got bought up buy your favorite anti viruses company avast ya so then i understood what was going on avast bought now it is a annoying software to use like there antivirus so what can you use if cclearner is not good anymore there is software called glayer utility but to be clear i don’t like there application that much i had to move to Linux to have a clean computing experience and get rig off windows registry and cache issues

again don’t use something thats sold out and the new owners are annoying you

utorrent / bittorrent #

i use too use use utorrent /bittorrent a lot to download legal stuff like Linux ISO but there were ads in u torrent and bit torrent application that i was not a fan off it took half my screen so i always tried to find ways to get rid of the ads and annoying features but always they came back so one day some one told me about qbittorent so i tried it and never looked back qbittorent it a opensource free software that has no ads and works better so there is no reason to use any software with ads in it for same use case at all

Adobe flash player #

if you have adobe flash player in your system you are the bravest person i know it has so many vulnerabilities that i don’t even know a browser that supports it any more ( i wont talk about its history and reasons because it deserves a video to it self )

Adobe Acrobat Reader for PDF #

Ya adobe is such a good company that they made it in the list twice adobe was the inverter of the PDF format but now there reader is the slow and the clunk any web browser can open a PDF now but installing Acrobat Reader adds vulnerabilities to your system so its not safe to use at all and there is no reason to use it because there are free and open source applications to open PDF if you want to edit it and to open it you don’t even need to download anything your browser can open it anyways

winrar #

well winrar asks me to buy the the full version and i don’t pay and to its credit it works well without paying but still i on longer use it since i have started using 7.zip on windows it has is free and open source with no ads and free updated so it have no reason to use winrar and its ugly ui design that look like it is still in the 90s look at this

Antivirus #

so if you have watched the video till here it means that you are interested in computers and are already aware on this if not i this is something that you must understand all antivirus software slow down you computer and may also breach your privacy in a way if you are aware of some basic security precautions you don’t need a antivirus at all . If you are not aware of such precautions subscribe i will make a video on then and for now turn on windows defender for users that are not educated of basic security precautions reprieved to operate a windows computer and if you still want ha antivirus to use install kysperskey it has been shown to stop virus and only antivirus i have seen hackers even be cautious about . again dose windows defender give detected files from your computer to the USA sure and dose kayspers key give the detected file to Russian servers sure but use them if the user is variable to virus.

so over all don’t use apps that are old and not up to date with current times and keep any eye if company get bought up to be safe using opensource software is the best way to go about things subscribe for more
